There is no long term planning. Most jobs involve some aspects of business whether you work as a lawyer, an engineer, a scientist or an accountant.
This, of course, takes the responsibility away from the staff. These positions come with a great deal of responsibility as professionals oversee the long-term financial goals of their companies.
Through it all, the store keeps on running. And most of that is negative. They learn by being given the authority and responsibility to do a better job. Software gives us reports and data that just five years ago we might only have dreamed of getting.
